Payment Operations Manager

Kyash is a Japanese fintech startup providing a digital wallet application with Visa card issuance, everyday payments, peer-to-peer transfers and real-time spending management. The company develops and operates its card issuance, payment systems and application in-house.

The Payment Operations Manager manages practical and operational work related to credit card payments. Responsibilities include matching transaction data such as usage dates and amounts, managing the related operations, and improving processing quality to prevent errors and enable prompt payment processing.

The role plans and proposes improvements to payment-processing logic and designs efficient, accurate payment workflows using knowledge of the systems and networks required for credit card payments. It also promotes optimization of operational processes and system specifications.

Additional responsibilities include coordinating with Visa and acquirers, improving operations while complying with financial regulations and internal compliance requirements, and managing the team through progress tracking, member development and coordination between departments.

Tools used in the work include the company’s user-management tool, management tools provided by international card brands, and Kurumeru. The internal environment includes Slack; Zoom, Google Meet and huddle meetings; Google Calendar; Gmail; Google Workspace applications such as Sheets, Docs and Slides; Microsoft 365; Kibela; Zapier; and Mac or Windows computers.

The payment team consists of three people: one member, one part-time worker and one contractor. The selection process is document screening, a casual interview, a first interview, a final interview and an offer, although the process may change depending on circumstances. The work location is in Kita-Aoyama, Minato, Tokyo.
