3D CG Game Effects Artist

The role creates visual effects for mobile and console game development. Responsibilities include producing game effects, validating effect presentations, supporting tools that improve production efficiency, and managing and supervising the quality of effects.

Applicants must have professional experience creating effects with a game engine or DCC tool. Experience completing at least one game title is welcomed. The posting also welcomes experience creating effects with Unity, Unreal Engine, Houdini, Maya, or SPARK GEAR; the ability to pursue advanced visual expression under hardware constraints; interest in improving effect workflows and production efficiency; shader knowledge that can be applied to effect production; experience supervising effects; and leadership experience.

The position is part of a game development environment focused on mobile and consumer games. The posting seeks people who enjoy games, have interests outside games, want to make games as part of a team, work with a sense of speed, communicate effectively, and independently investigate and advance their production work.

The position is full-time and based at offices in Shibuya or Meguro, Tokyo. Working hours are 10:00 to 19:00, with eight scheduled working hours and a 60-minute break from 13:00 to 14:00. Average monthly overtime is approximately 18.5 hours based on 2025 results. Annual salary is determined according to experience, ability, and company regulations, with a stated range of ¥4.5 million to ¥12 million. A semiannual performance incentive is available outside the annual salary. The annual salary includes prescribed overtime and late-night work allowances. The position provides a five-day workweek from Monday to Friday, public holidays, summer leave, year-end and New Year holidays, annual paid leave, and condolence leave.
