UI Design

About this role

The Lead Product Designer will lead product experience and UI design, initially focused on online medical consultations. The work must address patient clarity and usability together with healthcare professionals’ workflows, business requirements, safety, and accuracy. The designer will define the design problems to solve by considering patient needs, business issues, and operational constraints in medical settings.

The role involves working with product managers, engineers, healthcare professionals, and business teams to move product decisions forward. Responsibilities include forming hypotheses from user interviews and behavioral data, structuring information, creating prototypes, designing interfaces, and validating solutions. The designer will also organize complex design challenges, establish solution directions, participate in decision-making, and raise the quality of the overall product while remaining hands-on.

A further responsibility is to create systems that maintain consistent design quality as AI enables members beyond the design team to produce outputs. This includes designing and operating design principles, quality standards, design systems, AI-use guidelines, prompts, and templates. Design reviews and knowledge sharing are also part of improving quality across the product and services.

The position belongs to the Product Department, which plans and develops digital products and directs the value delivered by them. Linc'well operates an online medical consultation system service, a clinic DX support service, and a healthcare e-commerce service. Its main online consultation platform has recorded more than 10 million consultations cumulatively since launch. The product organization includes 15 product managers, 7 product designers, and 4 communication designers, excluding contractors. The broader product scope includes new services, user and design research, web and app prototyping, testing, information architecture, and UI design.

The listed tools are Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud for design; Slack and Google Meet for communication; and Notion, Miro, and Google Sheets for documentation and collaboration. This is a lead role rather than a management position primarily responsible for people management or evaluation operations. The designer is expected to lead through hands-on practice, expertise, and systems building.

The workplace is the office at T-SQUARE Hamamatsucho 3F, 2-13-10 Hamamatsucho, Minato-ku, Tokyo, or remote work. A flextime system is available. Depending on experience and career preferences, the assigned area and initial mission will be determined. Future scope may include cross-product experience design, design systems and AI-use quality foundations, product strategy, and service design.
