Technical Sound Designer

The Technical Sound Designer designs game audio and develops initial specifications. The role creates various sound effects, performs the technical work of integrating them into games, and coordinates implementation progress and external communication with project stakeholders.

Required experience includes at least two years creating sound effects for console or handheld games, or for film and television productions. Candidates must be able to communicate appropriately with directors, designers, and other relevant stakeholders. At least two years of knowledge and practical experience using various music-related tools is also required.

Experience creating sound effects through Foley or field recording, and experience producing audio in a surround environment, are welcome. The posting also seeks people familiar with sound across games and visual productions, who have developed their own sound direction and can work patiently on sound creation.

The position is based at offices in Shibuya or Meguro, Tokyo. It is a full-time, five-day office-work position with working hours from 10:00 to 19:00, including eight scheduled working hours and a 60-minute break from 13:00 to 14:00. Average monthly overtime is approximately 18.5 hours based on 2025 results. The employment form is stated as regular employment, although contract employment or an outsourcing contract may also apply.

Annual compensation is determined according to experience, ability, and company regulations, with a stated range of 4.5 million to 12 million JPY. A semiannual performance incentive is available outside the annual salary.
