Web Application Engineer

This Web Application Engineer role develops Tebiki’s video-based education SaaS for deskless workers in manufacturing, logistics, construction, factories, warehouses, restaurants and hotels. The product addresses training and knowledge-transfer challenges associated with person-dependent on-the-job training. Tebiki also describes a manufacturing field-reporting DX SaaS, while this position primarily supports the education product. Planned development areas include improving the video-editing experience and creating new features using AI technology.

The engineer leads product development decisions with ownership across the full development cycle, from specification planning to launch. Responsibilities include planning and adding product features, defining requirements, designing, developing and testing web applications and APIs, measuring and improving application performance, designing the architecture including technology selection, and resolving technical debt. The role’s mission is to use technology to solve customer problems and improve product quality and value. The scope and balance of responsibilities may be adjusted according to the person’s experience.

The engineer works closely with designers and QA engineers and takes the lead in development work that includes design and testing. The development process uses Scrum and repeats improvement releases on a weekly basis. Pair programming and code reviews are part of the described development environment. The role also includes participation in decisions about product direction and room to work on technical improvements and technical-debt reduction.
