Develop and improve Loglass Management through customer-informed design, server-side features, performance optimization, refactoring, testing, and development-process automation.
About this role
This full-time role implements, tests, prototypes, and improves AI solutions for enterprise companies' management and operational challenges. Working alongside Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs), the engineer builds RAG solutions, LLM applications, and AI agents from solution designs, performs rapid PoC development and accuracy validation, and provides technical constraints and improvement proposals to FDEs and product managers. Responsibilities also include prompt engineering, embedding design, search-accuracy tuning, ETL and data-pipeline construction and operation, and maintaining and documenting internal AI knowledge, evaluation infrastructure, shared libraries, and templates.
The position is part of the AI Solutions Division, which is directly under the CEO, in a four- to five-person cross-functional team. FDEs, consultants, product managers, designers, and engineers work together on customer challenges. FDEs lead customer-facing problem structuring and solution design, while the AI Solutions Engineer leads implementation, testing, and improvement and works directly with customers' corporate planning and management departments.
Implementation is the starting point for a planned path toward the FDE role. The engineer is expected to learn how FDEs understand customer issues, reshape requirements, and connect technical work to business outcomes, then gradually expand into problem structuring, solution design, customer discussions, and delivery of customer results.
Required qualifications include at least two years of practical experience and the ability to write production code independently. Backend development must be the main area, with the ability to independently handle either frontend or infrastructure work. Candidates must be able to break down ambiguous requirements, structure problems, interview customers directly about solving their issues, and learn business domains such as accounting, management control, or manufacturing cost from the ground up. Desired experience includes personal development, open-source contributions, or hackathons involving LLM, RAG, or agent development; cloud infrastructure construction and operation using AWS or GCP; customer-facing work in B2B SaaS, consulting, or system integration; and accounting, finance, or management-control knowledge, such as Bookkeeping Grade 2 level or higher.
The employment term is regular full-time employment with a three-month probationary period, extendable to six months. Annual compensation is JPY 7,000,000 to JPY 12,000,000 and is determined based on experience and skills. Salary reviews occur twice yearly, in April and October. The work location is the Tokyo office in Minato-ku, and working from home is permitted. Working hours are 10:00 to 19:00 with a one-hour break, with flextime and core hours from 10:00 to 15:00. Holidays include Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and the year-end and New Year period from December 28 through January 3. Benefits include company-leased housing, support for computer-related equipment, and a corporate defined-contribution pension plan. Health, employees' pension, employment, and workers' compensation insurance are provided.
