Forward Deployed Engineer

Money Forward is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer for its AX (AI Transformation) Promotion Division in Tokyo. The role embeds directly with business units such as sales, HR, IP, compliance, and corporate planning to uncover operational pain points and turn them into AI solutions. Responsibilities span the full 0-to-1 cycle: hearings and workshops to structure business problems, requirements/technical definition, identifying and assessing data sources, evaluating generative AI/LLM technology choices and feasibility, and designing and building AI prototypes (chatbots, AI agents, RAG). The engineer iterates on prototypes with business-unit feedback, sets and validates evaluation metrics, and reports results; a separate team takes over productionization once a prototype is complete. Required: experience building solutions with generative AI/LLMs/AI agents (prompt engineering, chatbots, RAG, MCP), direct end-to-end experience working with business-side stakeholders from problem discovery through implementation, and cloud experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure. Preferred: rapid prototyping experience at an early-stage startup, in-house DX or new-business PoC development, or applied AI/ML experience, plus data engineering, API design/integration, or consulting/SIer project experience. Tech stack: Python, React, TypeScript, AWS, GCP, Azure, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Docker, Terraform Enterprise. Business-level Japanese is required for stakeholder discussions and documentation; English is not required. Full-time, hybrid work (in-office 2+ days/week), annual salary ¥7,908,000–¥15,000,000, discretionary labor system with possible flextime, semi-annual performance bonus eligibility.
