IT Specialist / IT Architect

This combined posting covers three positions in the Advanced Engineering Technology Department. During the selection process, one position is proposed based on the applicant’s preferences, experience, and aptitude: Full-Stack Engineer/Performance Architect, Database Consultant/Database Specialist, or Global IT Architect.

The Full-Stack Engineer/Performance Architect provides technical support on projects using various technologies. Responsibilities include requirements definition, design, testing, tuning, performance problem solving, and architecture design. Relevant areas include cloud architecture design, application processing design, database and application tuning, and performance testing. The position requires at least two years of experience in system development projects and experience solving a range of technical problems. Experience designing or developing with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and coding experience are welcomed but not required.

The Database Consultant/Database Specialist focuses on optimizing databases in client systems. The work includes selecting suitable database products, planning feasible migrations, and carrying out those plans to improve the agility of legacy systems and reduce costs in digital transformation initiatives. Required qualifications include knowledge and skills related to Oracle Database or PostgreSQL, experience solving various database-related issues, and experience designing and building database server foundations, including availability, disaster recovery, backup and restore, and performance design. Preferred experience includes serving as a DBA for a system with a database of at least 10 TB or for a mission-critical system, expertise in at least two database products, and team leadership in system development projects. English is welcomed, as are ORACLE MASTER Platinum Oracle Database, OSS-DB Gold, or Database Specialist certifications under the Information Technology Engineers Examination.

The Global IT Architect supports system development across NTT DATA’s global operations and addresses performance and non-functional issues. The role requires practical experience in system development projects, the ability to view technology as a means of delivering value rather than as an end in itself, and the ability to exercise technical leadership while collaborating with diverse stakeholders. Experience working on global projects or with multinational teams and expertise in performance or non-functional areas are preferred. The role involves working in English and requires willingness to communicate technically in English.

The department provides technical support for important projects and global expansion and collaborates with global members, including centers in China and India. The three positions are based in Toyosu, Tokyo, with office attendance combined with telework. The employment type is regular employee. The listed expected positions are assistant manager, senior staff, and general staff. Expected annual compensation is 5.5 million to 11 million JPY; details are provided during interviews.
