Develop Teachme Communication features with TypeScript and React, improve backend and infrastructure, define technical challenges, and refine the product with sales and customer success.
This product engineer will develop features for Teachme Communication, a new product connected with the manual creation and sharing system Teachme Biz. The work covers general development responsibilities, beginning with learning the product’s code and specifications while working from tasks assigned by an existing member. As the second core member of a two-person development team, the role is expected to contribute independently and discuss the product’s direction alongside the existing member.
Teachme Communication was released in March and is currently being trialed by several companies in parallel. It is in an early launch phase moving from initial creation toward broader development. The product uses AI to understand and organize spoken interactions and daily reports, with the aim of turning routine communication into organizational resources that help frontline operations. The role will work closely with the business side so customer feedback can be reflected in the product.
Day-to-day responsibilities include feature development using TypeScript and React, operation and improvement of backend and infrastructure components, and collaboration on specifications and the definition of technical issues such as AI search technology. The engineer will also work with sales and customer success on product improvements based on feedback.
Required experience includes practical development of web-application features using TypeScript and React, experience progressing and completing projects while coordinating with other internal departments, and the communication skills needed to develop collaboratively in a team. Candidates should be able to define technical issues proactively, learn unfamiliar areas, adapt to changing circumstances, and work independently as the product evolves. The engineering organization values thoughtful problem solving followed by quick testing, trust within the team, enjoyment of learning and creating, and maintaining multiple options without becoming fixed on one approach.
Experience with infrastructure construction and operation using AWS or similar technologies, independently defining technical issues and leading or managing projects, developing B2B SaaS products, or developing products in a startup or new-business launch phase is welcomed.
The position is full-time with no fixed contract period and includes a three-month probationary period from the start date. Working hours are 10:00–19:00 under a flextime system with core hours from 11:00–16:00. The workplace is in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. Annual compensation is JPY 6,250,000–7,250,000. Holidays include weekends, public holidays, summer leave, year-end and New Year holidays, paid leave, and condolence leave. Listed benefits include a temporary remote allowance, social insurance, transportation reimbursement subject to a limit, company-provided computers and mobile devices, five days of additional leave available during the six months before paid leave is granted, partial book-purchase support, an internal study-abroad program across departments, and permission for outside work. Smoking is prohibited indoors.
