This role is a core member of a seven-person accounting team and is primarily responsible for purchasing operations and financial closing work. The team covers purchasing, sales administration, closing, disclosure and tax matters. The position is expected to take ownership of purchasing and closing-related areas while leading work across the overall process. Closing areas that are new to the employee may be assigned gradually according to their preferences and proficiency.
Purchasing responsibilities include reviewing purchasing approvals, payment requests and expense reimbursements from accounting and tax perspectives. The role responds to consultations from business units about cost recognition, account classifications and consumption-tax categories; organizes accounting and tax issues for new suppliers, services and products; and improves purchasing and payment processes through system implementation and the use of AI.
The role also supports sales administration. Duties include contract management for orders, issuing customer invoices after confirming sales details, handling internal and external billing inquiries, determining revenue recognition treatment under accounting standards, improving sales-management processes through systems, and assessing counterparties' credit risk using financial information and transaction terms.
Closing-related responsibilities cover monthly, quarterly and annual closings; financial-number management; review of account titles and journal entries; and development and management of closing schedules. The role examines disclosure issues and prepares disclosure documents such as securities reports, semiannual reports, extraordinary reports and earnings releases. It also handles tax calculations, deferred-tax accounting, tax issue analysis and improvement proposals, tax-audit responses, coordination with tax advisers, communication with audit firms, preparation of required materials, and follow-up on audit findings.
The team uses Freee Accounting, TKC ASP1000R and Teams. The team consists of one manager, three permanent employees, one contract employee and two temporary employees.
The work location is Azabudai Hills Mori JP Tower in Minato, Tokyo. A hybrid Work From Anywhere arrangement allows a choice between office work and telework, and the posting describes a remote-centered environment. Telework from locations other than home is permitted. Commuting expenses are covered up to JPY 150,000 per month. Work locations may be changed to company-designated sites, including telework locations, and indoor smoking is prohibited.
