Accounting and Tax Specialist

This position is part of the Accounting Department and handles standalone financial closing for the holding company, intermediate holding companies, and investment subsidiaries. Daily responsibilities include monthly, quarterly, and annual closing under Japanese accounting standards, tax planning for investment and financing transactions, and preparation of corporate, consumption, and local tax filings. Tax work may include the group tax sharing system, corporate reorganization tax, and international tax. The role also covers FP&A planning, forecasting, variance analysis, and preparation of disclosure documents such as securities reports.

Required candidates have practical tax filing experience at a tax accountant corporation, accounting firm, or similar organization, or equivalent knowledge. Practical tax experience at an operating company, or equivalent knowledge, is also accepted. Knowledge of corporate reorganization tax and transfer pricing tax is welcomed. Accountant or tax accountant qualifications, including partial examination passes, are advantageous. English ability is also welcomed. Applicants should be motivated to grow, approach their work seriously, and respond flexibly to changing situations.

The systems used are STRAVIS for consolidated closing, Kanjo Bugyo for standalone closing, and the e-Tax group tax sharing system by TKC for tax filing. The department reports directly to the CFO, allowing work in close proximity to the management team. The wider group includes banking, securities, insurance, fintech, biotechnology, and cryptocurrency businesses, providing exposure to different financial products and business models.

A group-wide career open system allows potential transfers based on an employee's career plan, including from standalone accounting and tax to consolidated accounting or management accounting, from the Accounting Department to Finance, public relations and investor relations, or overseas business, and to financial or fintech-related group companies. Examples include departments and group companies where such transfers have occurred. The scope of duties may change to all company business. There is no change of workplace or relocation.

The employment type is permanent full-time employment. The work location is in Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo, and remote work is not available.

The probationary period is six months with no changed conditions, and the contract is indefinite. The premises are entirely non-smoking.
