Internal Auditor

The role is the first member of a newly established Internal Audit Office and reports directly to the CEO. It will build and operate the internal audit framework from the ground up, supporting IPO preparation and the establishment of a J-SOX framework.

Responsibilities include evaluating and documenting internal controls over financial reporting for the Japan headquarters and domestic and overseas subsidiaries. This work includes building the controls framework from scratch in coordination with external specialists and relevant departments. The role will also create and execute an annual audit plan covering the entire group, including the Japan headquarters, subsidiaries in India and the Philippines, and other EOR locations.

The position evaluates and monitors group-wide risk management, performs secretariat duties for the Compliance and Risk Management Committee, coordinates with statutory auditors, and supports statutory audits. Through internal investigations and interviews, it identifies unclear business processes, assesses related risks, reports findings to management, and recommends improvements.

Overseas audits are expected approximately four times per year and generally last about one week each. India and the Philippines are the main destinations. The role uses Slack for communication and Google Workspace as the groupware. Accounting systems include freee Accounting at the Japan headquarters and ZOHO Books at overseas subsidiaries. No audit or J-SOX documentation tool is currently in place, so selecting and introducing one is part of the assignment. The stated PC environment is Windows.
