Cybersecurity Solutions Planning and Business Development Lead

This position plans and executes cybersecurity solutions for customers in the national security sector, including government organizations such as the National Cybersecurity Office and the Ministry of Defense. The work addresses growing demand for new solutions, including active cyber defense.

Responsibilities include developing and following plans that implement business strategies, working with sales organizations on sales strategy and joint approaches, and managing solution development with NEC affiliates and partner vendors. The role also evaluates solutions from outside Japan and elsewhere, promotes collaboration, leads proposals for newly created opportunities, identifies customer issues and needs, and coordinates the rollout of planned solutions across internal organizations. Collaboration with NEC Security is part of the role, with solutions intended for wider public-sector and enterprise markets.

At the chief-level rank, applicants must have either at least three years of leadership experience in presales or solution planning within a security business, or at least three years of business-development experience in the IT or consulting industry. At the manager-level rank, applicants must have either at least seven years of management experience in security-business presales or solution planning, or at least seven years of business-development experience in the IT or consulting industry. English qualifications such as TOEIC 730 or higher or Eiken Pre-1 are preferred, as are security qualifications including CEH, OSCP, CISSP, CISA, and CISM.

The position is expected to be a full-time employee role at chief to manager level. Annual compensation is approximately 6.8–9.9 million JPY for the chief level and 9.3–11.0 million JPY for the manager level. Monthly pay is approximately 450,000–700,000 JPY for the chief level and 550,000–750,000 JPY for the manager level; the stated basic salary ranges are 350,000–600,000 JPY and 550,000–750,000 JPY respectively. Previous compensation is considered and company rules apply.

The work location is NEC's head office in Minato, Tokyo. Work involving highly confidential information generally requires attendance at the office. The posting also states that flextime, including later starts, early finishes, and time away during the day, is available. Duties may be changed to company-designated duties, and the work location may be changed to a company-designated location, including a telework location where applicable. Internal business and technical training is available without charge, and financial support is provided for professional qualifications. Support and training are also available for people without prior experience in the national security field.
