About this role

This role handles a broad range of accounting and finance activities according to the candidate’s experience. Initial responsibilities focus on routine closing work, with opportunities to expand the scope of work based on experience and interest.

Early responsibilities include monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, including consolidated closing; preparation of financial closing materials; disclosure work such as financial summaries, securities reports, and statutory accounts; closing schedule management; and preparation of consolidation packages for the parent company.

With additional experience or interest, the role may include budget-versus-actual management, improvement of business processes, fixed-asset management, accounts receivable and payable management, cash management, tax filings for corporate tax, consumption tax, fixed asset tax, and withholding tax, as well as coordination with audit firms and internal control activities including J-SOX.

Depending on experience and career interests, the role may also provide opportunities to work on subsidiary management and M&A-related matters.

The Finance and Accounting Department is building and strengthening its team structure. It consists of one department head who also serves as finance and accounting team manager, and 15 finance and accounting staff members, including two regular employees. As the company undergoes changes including the creation of subsidiaries and M&A activity, team members may participate in developing new processes and work closely with decision-making. The role is expected to allow the successful candidate to broaden responsibilities as the team grows.

The selection process consists of an application, notification to candidates who pass document screening within five business days, and two interviews or meetings. Applicants must submit a resume and career history, and complete a web-based FFS aptitude assessment before receiving a final offer.
