About this role

Based in Minato, Tokyo, this full-time Product Manager will lead the product lifecycle for Migakun, a gig-worker platform for facilities such as fitness clubs and coworking spaces. The service uses gig workers for non-core tasks including cleaning, reception, and facilities management, supporting facilities with needs for unmanned or reduced-staff operations.

Responsibilities include researching customer needs, competitors, and market trends; defining new service concepts; building business models; preparing revenue plans; and translating business requirements into product development plans. The role coordinates with development teams on schedules and resource allocation, manages projects, and negotiates with internal departments, external partners, and clients. It also contributes to go-to-market planning with sales and marketing teams, including marketing strategy, promotional measures, and operational preparation for launch. After launch, the role analyzes user feedback, monitors KPIs, proposes improvements, and continues service optimization.

The position is expected to first develop a detailed understanding of Migakun, its customers, and its market, then drive both product development and business value creation. The posting describes close collaboration with management, the business owner, development teams, and other internal and external stakeholders. Migakun began service in 2024 and is currently accelerating productization. The role may also use assets from the Akerun business, including brand awareness, its customer base, and connections to IoT technology; involvement in the Akerun business strategy office or other new businesses may be possible in the medium to long term.

Required experience is at least three years in product management or business development. Preferred experience includes product management or business development for IT products; launching an IT product while actively leading the project at leader level or above; end-to-end 0-to-1 experience from business requirements definition through product launch; launching a product from zero with annual sales in the tens of millions to 100 million yen range; using generative AI to improve work with tools such as Claude Cowork, Gemini, ChatGPT, or Copilot; and developing with AI agents such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor. Experience producing results in fast-moving venture or small-scale environments and the ability to work proactively across product and business development are also sought.

Annual compensation is JPY 7,000,000–10,000,000, with monthly pay of JPY 584,000–835,000 comprising ability-based pay, performance-based variable pay, and fixed overtime pay. The fixed overtime component covers 45 hours and is JPY 152,000–217,000; additional premiums are paid for overtime beyond 45 hours, holiday work, and late-night work. Salary reviews take place twice a year, in January and July.

Working hours are 9:30–18:30 with a one-hour break. A flextime system has core hours of 10:00–14:00 and flexible hours of 7:00–10:00 and 14:00–21:00. The development division uses a discretionary work system. Remote work is available by consultation. The position provides 124 annual holidays, full two-day weekends on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, year-end and New Year holidays from December 29 to January 3, at least 10 days of paid leave granted at joining, and five days of special leave. Benefits include social insurance, commuting support up to JPY 30,000 per month, a housing allowance calculated against commuting costs, a cafe space, free drinks, club activities, meal gatherings, book-purchase assistance, internal study sessions, study-event fee support, a high-specification PC, a smartphone, and an awards program.
