3D CG Game Character Artist

This role creates character models for game development and is contracted directly with BlazeGames, a Cygames subsidiary, rather than through a secondment arrangement.

Required experience includes practical character production using Maya, 3ds Max, Softimage, or similar tools. Experience completing at least one game title is welcomed. Experience or knowledge of implementing characters with a game engine, interest in building workflows, and practical sculpting experience with tools such as ZBrush are also welcomed. Experience using 3D painting tools such as Mari or Substance Painter is an additional preferred qualification.

The position is based at the Shibuya Garden Tower in Shibuya, Tokyo, with remote work available, including after the COVID-19 situation has ended. Working hours are 10:00 to 19:00, including eight scheduled working hours and a 60-minute break from 13:00 to 14:00.

The standard employment arrangement is full-time permanent employment. The posting states that the role may also start as a contract employee or be handled under a services contract. Annual compensation is determined according to experience, ability, and company rules, with a semiannual performance incentive paid separately. The annual salary includes prescribed overtime and late-night work allowances.
