3D Game Effects Artist

The role creates visual effects for in-game content and cutscenes as part of game development. The position is contracted directly with BlazeGames, a Cygames subsidiary, rather than through a secondment arrangement.

Practical experience creating effects with tools such as Maya, 3ds Max or Softimage is required. Experience completing at least one game title, creating effects with a game engine, or using Houdini is welcomed. The posting also values the ability to pursue visual expression within hardware constraints such as processing load, interest in improving effects workflows and work efficiency, and shader knowledge that can be applied to effects production.

The role is intended for someone who likes games, has interests outside games, wants to create games as part of a team, works with a sense of speed, communicates effectively, and can advance production with personal curiosity and initiative.

The work location is in Shibuya, Tokyo, and remote work is available, including after the end of COVID-related restrictions. Standard working hours are 10:00 to 19:00, with eight scheduled working hours and a 60-minute break from 13:00 to 14:00. The employment type is regular employee, although the posting notes that some cases may begin as a contract employee or業務委託 contract.

Annual compensation is listed at 4,000,000 to 10,000,000 JPY. The annual salary includes designated overtime and late-night work allowances, and a semiannual performance incentive is available separately. Regular-employee benefits include transportation expenses, a housing subsidy, relocation assistance, child allowance, social insurance, internal study sessions and new-employee training. Regular employees receive weekends and public holidays off, seasonal and year-end holidays, annual paid leave and condolence leave; these conditions and insurance coverage may differ for業務委託 contracts.
