About this role

This role plans and develops new devices and solutions from the perspective of the circuits and systems in which electronic components are used. Responsibilities include designing and developing evaluation boards for power circuits, power-electronics circuits, and communication-interface circuits; evaluating system and device performance using evaluation boards and simulations; and proposing new devices and solution developments based on those evaluations.

The role also investigates market and technology trends, assesses their implications, and leads solution development and proposal activities connected to how electronic devices are used in customer equipment and systems. Target circuits include power supplies for data servers and power supplies for automotive inverters and automotive ECUs. The position involves approximately one to two domestic business trips per month to manufacturing and development sites, customers, and exhibitions.

Required experience includes practical design experience with power-electronics circuits, experience using circuit-simulation tools, and experience operating measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers. Experience designing or developing power circuits for automotive ECUs, ICT equipment, industrial equipment, motor control, or power electronics is preferred. Experience selecting passive components and using or understanding circuit-diagram CAD and board CAD is also preferred. Experience negotiating technical matters in English with overseas customers is an advantage.

The position is part of the Circuit Technology FAE section in the Advanced Business Development Office of the Device Solutions Business Division. The organization develops next-generation passive components and collaborates with development sites, technical departments, customers, marketing, sales, design, and manufacturing teams. Circuit and electromagnetic-field analysis can be performed using office workstations, with evaluation and experiments conducted when needed at technical departments in the Kanto region or Osaka.

The position is based in Minato, Tokyo, near Toranomon Hills Station. Working hours are 8:30 to 17:00, with a flextime system and telework available. Standard working time is 7 hours 45 minutes per day. The employment is permanent, with a three-month probationary period and no change in conditions during probation. Annual salary is JPY 7,000,000 to 8,500,000. Benefits include stock ownership, savings and pension plans, a cafeteria benefits plan, employee product purchase programs, housing support, and insurance coverage. The role offers a two-day weekly holiday schedule, public holidays, annual paid leave, and other stated leave programs.
