Activist-Related Advisory

The role is in the Capital Strategy Advisory Department and focuses on activist-related advisory services, including defense advisory for companies targeted by activist investors. Responsibilities cover marketing advisory services, preparing and presenting proposals, and executing individual engagements.

The position is open to junior bankers at Analyst or Associate level and senior bankers at Vice President or Director level. Relevant experience in investment banking, including accounting-firm-affiliated firms and M&A boutiques, shareholder relations advisory firms, banks, or other financial institutions is sought. Applicants with a strong interest in this work may also be considered.

Required knowledge and abilities include basic knowledge of corporate finance, law, accounting, and taxation. Valuation experience is welcomed. Business-level PC skills using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other tools are required, along with teamwork.

The employment type is permanent, with no fixed contract period. A six-month probationary period applies, with the same salary during probation. The work location is Tokyo. Standard working hours are 8:40 to 17:10, with 7.5 scheduled working hours and a 60-minute break. Flextime may apply depending on the assigned department. Overtime and holiday work may be required.

Salary is discussed according to experience and is determined under company rules based on ability and suitability. Commuting expenses are fully covered under company rules, and lunch cost assistance may be provided. Social insurance includes employment, workers' accident, health, and employees' pension insurance.
