About this role
This is the first business development position for ProOne, a vertical SaaS product for field-service industries and the short-term construction market. The role is responsible for opening new markets, strengthening the sales foundation in existing markets, generating business meetings and prospective customers, and driving platform sales growth.
Responsibilities include improving and operating existing channels such as industry associations and referral routes; working with marketing and inside sales to strengthen the process from lead generation to meeting creation; analyzing markets and refining sales strategies; and identifying new channels and markets. The role also develops alliances and partnerships with sales advisors, venture capital firms, financial institutions, and industry experts, expands referral sales, selects target markets, plans and executes market-entry strategies, and manages opportunities and pipeline progress. Excel and CRM tools are used for opportunity and progress management, with market insights fed back internally through coordination with other departments. The scope of duties may change to duties designated by the company.
ProOne is designed to optimize operations across sales, construction management, and back-office work rather than only one part of an operation. Customers can configure the SaaS for detailed business requirements without company-specific custom development. The business development function works across marketing, sales, and customer success while expanding this product through new channels and partnerships.
Required qualifications are at least three years of corporate sales experience or at least one year of business development experience; practical experience acquiring new customers or partners; experience taking an initiative from strategy planning through execution; skills in pipeline management, numerical analysis, and document preparation using Excel and PowerPoint; and experience coordinating and collaborating with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Experience in B2B products such as SaaS, IT, or business-support services is welcome. Other preferred experience includes negotiating partnerships or joint projects with industry or public organizations, launching channel-partner or agency initiatives at a SaaS company, successful new-market or channel development, and knowledge of field industries such as construction or real estate. The posting also describes a self-directed approach, commitment to goals, active relationship building, cross-functional collaboration, hypothesis-based testing, persistence, and attention to the success of customers and partners.
The position is full-time and located in Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo. Working hours use a flextime system with core hours from 11:00 to 16:00 and a 60-minute break during working hours. The listed annual salary is JPY 6.0–8.5 million.
