Social Issues Consultant, Digital and Advanced Technology

The role provides consulting services through Mizuho Research & Technologies, an organization within Mizuho Bank. The successful candidate will advise government agencies, independent administrative agencies, and private companies on business and operational transformation centered on IT, digital technologies, and data utilization.

Responsibilities also include supporting business strategy and policy planning for the use and social implementation of autonomous driving and mobility services. The role will investigate advanced technologies, including AI and automation technologies, blockchain and distributed technologies, and computing technologies, and examine how those technologies can be applied.

Required qualifications include relevant work experience, expertise, or knowledge gained in a government agency, consulting firm, think tank, research institution, or similar organization. Experience, expertise, or knowledge related to planning or examining new services using digital technologies, or developing digital technologies, is also accepted. Experience planning businesses or operations using IT or digital technologies is required.

Preferred qualifications include logical thinking, the ability to prepare materials for customers, presentation skills, and the ability to respond flexibly to and negotiate with customers. Experience executing projects as a project manager from planning and proposals through research and consulting for government agencies or private companies is preferred. Experience developing and building relationships with customer management is also preferred. Qualifications related to electrical, electronic, or information technology, such as the Information Processing Engineer Examination or Professional Engineer certification, are welcomed.

This is a permanent full-time position in Tokyo. The standard working hours are 8:40 to 17:10, with 7.5 scheduled working hours and a 60-minute break. Flextime may apply depending on the department. The probationary period is six months with the same salary. The position has no fixed contract term, although individual treatment may be offered depending on experience. Saturday, Sunday, public holidays, and specified year-end and New Year holidays are non-working days. Annual paid leave is 21 days, depending on the hiring month in the first year, with additional special leave available. Overtime and holiday work may be required. Salary is determined according to company rules based on ability and suitability and is not numerically specified.
