The Director, HR Business Partner & Japan Lead provides strategic HR leadership for the Japan business. Reporting to the VP, Head of Employee Experience – JAPAC, the role partners with the Japan President and business leaders across functions to improve employee experience and develop organizational and people strategies. The position is based in Tokyo.
The role oversees the HR Business Partner strategy for client groups that include Sales and Marketing, Professional Services, and Customer Experience. It works with Centers of Excellence and functional leaders in Japan, brings together the Japan Employee Experience team, and helps ensure that employee experience priorities align with business needs. The position also maintains operational rigor across HR systems and processes to support organizational efficiency and ease of doing business.
As a senior business partner to Senior Directors and above, the role advises leaders on workforce planning, organizational design, resource and OpEx allocation, performance optimization, performance management, talent assessment and engagement, business integration including M&A, and change management. It provides objective, data-based perspectives on organizational and People Resources issues and recommends and implements appropriate responses.
Additional responsibilities include leading organizational development, talent development, change management processes, and process re-engineering. The role partners with senior executives to diagnose complex organizational design and development needs, facilitate organizational discussions and problem solving, and design strategies for employee and organizational capabilities. It drives talent management, aligns resources with top priorities, and builds capabilities needed to support the organization’s stated vision and strategy. The role also advises and challenges senior leaders, and supports a positive organizational culture aligned with Adobe’s values.
Candidates need 15 or more years of HR experience, including team management and experience serving as an HR Business Partner to senior leaders in a global, matrixed organization.
