Parts and Materials Procurement Staff

This full-time procurement role supports manufacturing by securing a stable supply of parts and materials and pursuing cost reductions. Daily responsibilities include researching suppliers, including environmental compliance, loaned-item inventories, and financial reviews; selecting suppliers and parts; negotiating purchasing terms and contracts; assessing prices; managing and negotiating delivery schedules; and conducting quality improvement activities.

Main purchased items include machined metal parts, cast and processed components, unit products, and glass parts. The role supports production of medical X-ray tube equipment, which is used in diagnostic imaging devices. The procurement organization is being strengthened to support production of these products.

Candidates must have experience in at least one of the following areas: buyer operations, production control, SCM or logistics, or management and analysis. General MS Office skills and general knowledge of procurement operations and suppliers are required. The posting also seeks people who can cooperate with internal and external stakeholders, approach problem-solving positively, work with figures and data, and willingly learn new knowledge.

The work involves collecting requests from internal and external stakeholders, negotiating and coordinating with them, and carrying out procurement measures. Employees can receive support from managers and group members in areas where they have limited experience or skills. Responsibilities may be rotated across purchased items and suppliers according to individual capability, with future opportunities to take on leadership or management work.

The position is located at Canon Electronics Tube Devices Co., Ltd. in Otawara, Tochigi Prefecture. Working hours are 8:15 to 17:00. Overtime pay is provided separately. Annual holidays total 125 days, including weekends in principle, public holidays, year-end and New Year holidays, a May holiday period, and summer leave. Salary is an annual amount of JPY 4.3 million to JPY 8.7 million; the final treatment is determined according to experience and ability under company rules.
