About this role

This role covers transaction sales and transaction product development within the corporate transaction banking business. In transaction sales, the employee works mainly with corporate sales representatives to understand companies’ strategies and management issues, then proposes operational improvements and solution sales using transaction products.

In product development, the employee develops products using IT and digital technologies, including internet banking and APIs for corporate customers. The role also includes creating new schemes related to foreign exchange, payments, and trade finance.

The position is part of the Global Transaction Sales Department, which has overseas offices in locations around the world and works globally to address the needs of Japanese and non-Japanese customers. Depending on the employee’s preferences and suitability, future transfers overseas or to other internal or external locations may be possible.

The career course focuses on the corporate transaction business and is intended to develop transaction banking professionals through experience in specialist sections such as foreign exchange, payments, cash management, and trade finance, as well as possible future overseas assignments. No mandatory qualifications are specified. Preferred backgrounds include work experience at a financial institution; strategic proposal experience for corporate clients in consulting; finance or accounting experience at a trading company or operating company; finance, accounting, or financial-institution systems work at an IT vendor; or overseas work experience. A TOEIC score of 850 or higher is desirable for applicants with overseas work experience. Applicants without these backgrounds may also apply if they aim to become finance professionals or have high potential or strong expertise in financial products.

The position is a full-time permanent employee role. The work location is Tokyo, with possible changes to company-designated locations including telework locations. The standard schedule is 8:40 to 17:10, with 7 hours and 30 minutes of scheduled work and a 60-minute break. Flextime may apply depending on the department. Overtime and holiday work may be required. The probationary period is six months, and salary is unchanged during probation. Holidays include Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, year-end and New Year holidays, 21 days of annual paid leave subject to the hiring month in the first year, and other special leave. Salary is determined under company regulations; commuting expenses are fully covered under company rules, and lunch subsidies and other benefits may apply. Social insurance, an employee stock ownership plan, childcare babysitter discounts, housing-related programs, asset-building support, and leisure support are provided.
