Production Control Specialist, Microscope Manufacturing

This role manages production for microscopes within the Healthcare Business Division. The work includes procuring products and parts from domestic and overseas suppliers, managing delivery schedules, inventory and manufacturing costs, improving production indicators, and considering and implementing future production strategies.

The position coordinates with suppliers to improve delivery and inventory performance. Responsibilities include organizing and visualizing indicator databases, planning and implementing improvement measures, and guiding suppliers on corrective activities. The role also manages production constraints such as end-of-life information, drawing revisions and 4M changes, while improving the quality and efficiency of related processes. Production capacity and long-lead-time parts are monitored to support reliable production plans.

For new products, the position manages milestone schedules leading to mass production and supports stable production after launch. It also prepares budgets based on production strategy, monitors changes in manufacturing costs and proposes improvement measures. Internal DX activities and external supplier guidance are used to improve indicators and business processes. The team also manages core systems, production schedules, inventory, manufacturing costs and change management.

Applicants must have at least three years of experience in production control or production planning in manufacturing, including independently promoting these activities with internal and external stakeholders, guiding suppliers with delivery or inventory issues, and structurally analyzing and improving or renewing existing business processes through DX. Experience leading delivery improvement or inventory-reduction activities, shortening lead times, improving delivery and quality for purchased items, coordinating departments during new-product launches and gate management, numerical analysis using Excel, and preparing presentation materials is welcomed. Power BI and Power Automate experience is also welcomed. English reading, writing and communication skills are listed as a preferred qualification.

The position belongs to the Production Control Section of the Production Strategy Department in the Healthcare Business Division. The section supports stable supply and competitive costs for medical and precision equipment while balancing quality, cost, delivery and legal compliance. The workplace has 19 section members excluding the section manager. OJT is followed by a career path from staff member to team leader, group leader and section manager.

The position is based at Nikon's headquarters and innovation center in Shinagawa, Tokyo. Remote work is available, with a stated usage rate of 0–30 percent. Flextime is available. Working time is eight hours, with a super-flextime system; the listed standard hours are 9:00–17:45. Average overtime is 10–30 hours per month, with busy periods. The probationary period is three months. Holidays total 128 days annually with a five-day workweek. The salary range is 5,000,000 to 9,300,000 yen annually.
