About this role

This full-time role will lead the planned establishment of an HR Ops department, reporting directly to the Head of HR. Recruitment operations are currently divided between Biz Recruiting and Product Recruiting teams. The role will consolidate and standardize these operations and establish a small operations structure supporting a company-wide hiring plan of 100 to 150 people per year. The organization is expected to grow to more than 500 employees within two years.

The main responsibilities include designing and operating recruitment processes such as interview scheduling and recruiting administration, and managing, developing, and quality-controlling the recruiting operations team. The role will work with recruiters and business units to improve the candidate experience and will manage and operate the applicant tracking system, or ATS. It will define HR metrics covering personnel costs, headcount planning, productivity, and recruiting figures, and build and manage analysis infrastructure such as dashboards. In cooperation with the AI Ops department, the role will automate and improve HR work using generative AI. The scope is expected eventually to expand to operations across HR, not only recruitment. The position also involves hands-on work to build the department and its processes during a pre-launch phase with some organizational ambiguity. Additional mid-level members responsible for metrics and AI are expected to be hired and managed in the future.

Required qualifications include practical management experience in recruitment or HR operations, the ability to involve internal and external stakeholders and take ownership of project planning and execution, strong logical thinking, and skills in metric management, including indicator definition, KPI design, and dashboard-oriented thinking. Practical HR metrics experience is not required.

Preferred experience includes integrating and standardizing recruitment operations across multiple teams for hiring of more than 100 people per year, including staffing or RPO management; personnel cost or headcount planning, or collaboration with XP&A, corporate planning, or FP&A; business automation or prompt design using generative AI or LLMs; and organizational launch experience at a startup. Experience at manager level or above in an operating company, or experience with operations design and organizational support projects at a consulting firm, is also preferred. The posting seeks someone who can build systems hands-on, work positively in an undefined organizational phase, challenge unfamiliar areas, and develop a career across recruitment and HR operations.

The position is based in Minato Ward, Tokyo, with work from home permitted. Working hours use a flextime system with core hours from 10:00 to 15:00. Holidays include a two-day weekend, public holidays, and year-end and New Year holidays from December 28 through January 3. Leave includes annual paid leave, with 10 days granted at joining, as well as condolence, childcare nursing, nursing care, and menstrual leave. Benefits include company housing, subsidies for PC-related equipment, and a corporate defined-contribution pension plan. Health insurance, employees' pension, employment insurance, and workers' compensation insurance are provided.

The employment term has no fixed end date, with a three-month probationary period that may be extended to six months. The listed annual salary range is JPY 8,000,000 to 12,000,000; the final amount is determined based on experience and skills.
