Internal Auditor

The role conducts internal audit activities at Mizuho Trust & Banking. Responsibilities include planning audit operations and improvements, preparing audit plans, and performing risk assessments and audits as part of the internal audit function.

The scope covers trust banking activities such as real estate, pensions, trust products, custody, securities agency services and wills. Audits may also address governance and management strategy, operational and administrative risks, compliance, conduct, AML risks, and IT and systems.

Candidates should have experience in audit-related work, preferably involving trust banking. Experience in examination, legal affairs, compliance, risk management or administrative planning is also accepted, particularly in trust-related operations. The posting additionally accepts experience in IT strategy planning and execution, systems risk management and control promotion, systems development project management, or work involving networks and security.

The internal audit group operates independently from sales promotion, risk management and compliance functions and verifies and evaluates the effectiveness of internal control systems.

This is a permanent, full-time position in Tokyo. The standard working hours are 8:40 to 17:10, with 7.5 working hours and a 60-minute break; flextime may apply depending on the department. The initial probationary period is six months. Saturday, Sunday, public holidays and specified year-end and New Year holidays are off, with 21 days of annual paid leave per year, subject to the stated first-year condition. Overtime and holiday work may be required.
