Logistics Operations Staff

The logistics operations staff member handles export, import and domestic logistics activities according to their experience and skills. Responsibilities may include preparing shipping documents such as invoices, packing lists and shipping instructions; coordinating schedules and shipment arrangements with shipping companies, freight forwarders, warehouse companies, transport companies, factories, business divisions and other internal departments; managing shipment schedules; and entering data into Canon’s logistics core system.

The role may also cover warehouse, inventory and vehicle dispatch operations. Duties include giving work and management instructions concerning warehouses that store products and parts, arranging vehicles for shipments, and entering related data into the Canon logistics core system.

The position is intended for candidates with experience in production control or logistics at a manufacturer, or experience at a logistics company. Manufacturer experience is particularly welcomed. Candidates should have experience in one or more of the following areas: SCM or logistics operations; production control; manufacturing and sales coordination; or management and analysis, including management data analysis, operational efficiency improvement or KPI management. Interest in SCM and logistics is desirable. The role also covers coordination, adjustment and communication abilities, and an interest in improving business processes.

Canon operates logistics activities for products and parts produced and shipped in different regions. The logistics department supports reliable, safe and efficient delivery. The position is a regular employee role based at Canon’s headquarters in Shimomaruko, Ota-ku, Tokyo. After a certain period of work experience, transfer to Toride or to Bando in Ibaraki Prefecture or Nasu in Tochigi Prefecture may be possible depending on operational needs.
