About this role
This full-time marketing research role is the company’s first dedicated research position. The researcher will lead user research and broad data analysis, working with product managers, engineers, and registered dietitians. The role uses both user feedback and service-usage data to identify insights that support service improvements and proposals for new features.
The researcher will plan and conduct surveys and interviews with existing users. Responsibilities may include designing questionnaires, recruiting monitors or participants, carrying out the research, aggregating results, and analyzing qualitative and quantitative findings. Findings and recommendations will be organized into clear reports for decision-making and client work.
The role also analyzes logs accumulated in the company’s app and web services to understand users’ eating patterns and recipe-search behavior. Large datasets prepared in Google BigQuery are handled with SQL and Python, including aggregation and visualization, to provide quantitative support that may not be visible in survey responses. Python is the primary analysis environment, including tools such as Jupyter Notebook. Spreadsheets and Excel are also used for survey aggregation, while the use of the statistical language R is limited. Engineers are available to assist with data extraction when needed.
Depending on interest and suitability, the researcher may support evidence-related work with the research and development team, including analysis of service effectiveness data and joint research projects with universities. The role may also offer opportunities to present findings at academic conferences and contribute to papers using company data.
Required qualifications include at least one year of practical data-analysis experience involving data handling, aggregation, or analysis with Python and SQL; experience designing, conducting, and analyzing user surveys; logical thinking and reporting skills; and the ability to work across departments with colleagues from different areas of expertise. Experience with web-service or mobile-app data analysis and growth work, large-scale data platforms such as BigQuery, UX research, or marketing research is preferred. Knowledge of food, nutrition, or healthcare is also welcomed.
The work is connected to a nutrition-management app and the medical-institution dietary guidance solution Kakaris. The company also conducts user research and reporting projects with pharmaceutical and food companies, and collaborates with universities. Its services contain more than 80,000 users’ data and data classified across more than 80 diseases and concerns, including meal and behavior logs.
