About this role

This full-time role works across Dwango’s merchandising business based on Niconico assets and the launch of a new e-commerce platform. The position involves using Niconico’s creator network and entertainment-related intellectual property to develop and operate merchandising and e-commerce activities.

Responsibilities include proposing projects to online creators such as VTubers, Vocaloid producers, and game streamers; negotiating and contracting product commercialization rights; planning products; managing production schedules; and handling settlement work from start to finish. The role also oversees merchandising plans and on-site operations for merchandise sales at large in-person and online events.

As an initial member of the new e-commerce platform, the employee will help design and launch the service, establish its daily operating structure, plan sales strategies for products sold through the company’s e-commerce site, and execute promotions and campaigns. The role also analyzes sales and profit data and proposes and implements improvements to achieve targets. Client development and business negotiations are included among the expected activities.

Required qualifications are practical experience in merchandising or product planning in the entertainment industry or a related field involving creators, artists, or intellectual property; experience selling products and operating merchandise sales at events; and basic ability to use PC applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred qualifications include knowledge of or interest in Niconico Live and Niconico Video; knowledge of or interest in game streamers, YouTubers, and VTubers; substantial knowledge of licensing or character businesses; experience operating an e-commerce platform; experience planning and selling products through an e-commerce site or planning events; experience with e-commerce campaigns and initiatives; and experience using Photoshop or Illustrator.

The role requires coordinating smoothly with team members, making data-based decisions and proposals from e-commerce sales figures, actively suggesting plans and ideas, managing several tasks at the same time, and working toward merchandising sales targets and the construction of the new platform.
