Example projects include design analysis and technology development support for fuel cells and batteries, fluid, structural and multiphysics analysis, 3D CAE platform implementation consulting, structural and seismic design analysis for underground spaces and coastal or port facilities, fluid analysis for plant piping, and nanosimulation and informatics technology development in materials.
The role also covers mathematical analysis consulting using data science. Work may include accelerating simulations and improving event prediction with AI and machine learning, as well as statistical analysis of big data for anomaly detection in products and plants and failure-rate analysis.
Additional responsibilities include consulting on scientific and technology trends and policy recommendations. Examples are developing technology roadmaps for fuel cells and hydrogen, researching company trends, investigating regulations and emerging technologies in resources, energy and industrial safety, and researching trends in nanotechnology and advanced materials. The consultant will also conduct planning, sales and proposal activities in these fields.
Applicants must have practical experience in design or development using numerical analysis, simulation software development, or research and consulting in a science and technology field, together with relevant experience and knowledge. Experience as a project leader, engineering-related qualifications such as Professional Engineer or CAE qualifications, and communication skills sufficient to work with overseas companies are preferred.
This is a full-time, indefinite-term position based in Tokyo. The standard schedule is 8:40 to 17:10, with 7.5 working hours and a 60-minute break; flextime may apply depending on the department. Overtime and holiday work may be required. The position includes a six-month probationary period, paid leave of 21 days per year subject to first-year conditions, social insurance, commuting-cost reimbursement, lunch subsidies and other stated welfare programs. The work location may include telework locations, and the employment location and duties may be changed to locations and duties designated by the company.
