About this role
This role audits and monitors AML/CFT-related systems across Mizuho Financial Group and its domestic and overseas group companies. The work involves understanding operational conditions from a legal and regulatory compliance perspective, identifying issues, evaluating effectiveness, analyzing root causes, and making recommendations. The role contributes to achieving management strategies and business objectives related to AML/CFT.
Candidates should be familiar with AML/CFT operations, including anti-money-laundering activities, overseas payments such as SWIFT, domestic payments through Zengin-Net and BOJ-NET, and deposit account opening operations. They should also understand the structure of related systems, including filtering systems, monitoring systems, and KYC management systems, and be able to verify the effectiveness of compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
The posting also considers candidates with experience verifying IT areas in AML/CFT-related audits, or experience managing projects for the development of AML/CFT-related systems who are motivated to develop the ability to verify compliance effectiveness in AML/CFT operations. Preferred qualifications include IT audit certifications such as CIA or CISA and AML/CFT audit certifications such as CAMS. Overseas business experience is welcome. Experience in organizational management focused on practical solutions, including recommendations from business strategy and management perspectives rather than only compliance findings, is also preferred; candidates without audit experience may apply if they are motivated to take on this type of work.
The Internal Audit Group covers Mizuho's group-wide and global operations. Through AML/CFT audit activities, the role provides an opportunity to understand the business and address issues affecting business strategy, while developing an overview of AML/CFT operations and system implementation in Japan and overseas. Training and support for obtaining and maintaining certifications are provided.
