Business Analyst, AI-Driven Business and Process Transformation

This role plans and drives AI-enabled business and process transformation across Mizuho Financial Group. The business analyst works with business divisions to identify and structure operational needs, create AI-use themes aligned with business strategy, define current and target states, and plan proof-of-concept initiatives. The role communicates with stakeholders including management, builds agreement on key issues, and leads projects from planning and PoC through production deployment and internal adoption.

Responsibilities include project management for PoC and production development. Depending on the project and experience, the person may serve as project manager, product owner, scrum master, or a supporting role. The role works with engineering teams to organize discussions on technology selection and implementation direction and to advance prototype development. It also works with data management teams to define data requirements and lead data preparation, and with promotion teams to encourage internal use, identify operational improvements, and organize candidates for future themes.

Example projects include considering AI-agent services for retail digital channels, improving proposal support and operational processes for retail investment consultations, enhancing corporate customer support through AI agents, and reviewing credit-related and administrative processes in corporate sales. Example products include iOS and web applications for drafting meeting records, an AI tool that generates internal-format slides from natural-language instructions, an AI research tool that searches and evaluates web information to produce reports, and an AI sales-support product that recommends meeting themes and generates proposal materials.

Required qualifications include experience leading projects for business improvement, system development, or value creation, including leadership from requirements organization through implementation and adoption. Experience structuring business issues, designing target states, organizing current states and PoC plans, and building stakeholder agreement is required. Candidates must also have experience discussing and reaching agreement on implementation approaches at the same level of detail as developers, experience developing web applications or business systems, or experience in IT system or software sales or presales.

Preferred knowledge includes generative AI, including prompt design, evaluation perspectives, and basic RAG understanding; data extraction, visualization, and analysis using SQL or BI tools; UI, UX, and design; and basic IT system and machine-learning knowledge. The position is based in Tokyo. It is a full-time permanent employee position with a six-month probation period. Standard hours are 8:40 to 17:10 with 7.5 scheduled working hours and a 60-minute break, although flextime may apply depending on the department. Weekends, public holidays, and specified year-end and New Year holidays are provided, along with paid and other special leave. Overtime or holiday work may be required. Salary is determined under company rules and is listed as negotiable. Devices including a development computer, iPad, and business smartphone are provided.
