About this role

This is a full-time Business Planning Manager position in Tokyo, with online interviews available. The Business Planning Department has about 10 members and works closely with executives and business leaders. It supports an integrated cloud software platform for small businesses and individuals, including accounting, HR and labor management, sales management, tax filing, and electronic-signature products.

The role leads business-planning work and helps drive company-wide growth. Depending on experience and career plans, responsibilities include preparing annual and quarterly business plans, setting company-wide KGI targets, checking alignment with each business unit’s performance, and helping determine appropriate resource allocation in cooperation with executives and business units.

The role includes designing KPIs according to each business unit’s operating policy and building monitoring structures. It involves creating performance-visualization tools with BI tools such as Tableau and Looker Studio, identifying operational issues through data analysis, and proposing solutions. The position also covers designing foundations for frontline operations, building processes that improve day-to-day productivity, and enabling smooth information sharing among internal and external stakeholders.

As PMO for special projects, the person will manage initiatives such as new-business launches and strategic measures, track progress across departments, support achievement of project goals, and advance assignments from the executive team toward results in a short period. Other duties include preparing key data and progress reports for management decisions, analyzing and proposing actions concerning business conditions, risks, and opportunities, and producing financial-results presentation materials and industry-trend analyses.

Required qualifications include experience in corporate planning or business planning at an operating company, or experience with mid-term planning or management reports at a consulting firm. The candidate should demonstrate strong logical thinking, ownership in solving problems, communication ability, and the ability to involve others and move projects forward. Preferred experience includes managing teams or projects, building data visualizations or dashboards with Tableau or Looker Studio, and handling data using SQL. The role connects the Business Planning Department with executives and allows the person’s ideas to inform core business operations.
