Junior Corporate Finance Banker

This junior banker role supports the Corporate Finance First and Second Departments. The teams serve listed companies and private companies pursuing large IPOs, providing investment banking services including financing, IPO and M&A advisory.

The role covers both origination and execution across sectors. Work involves collaborating with product departments to help improve clients’ corporate value and using equity finance, debt finance, sustainable finance, IPO and M&A products. The position offers exposure to multiple transactions and to the full process from origination through execution, as well as knowledge of financial markets such as equities and bonds and of relevant sectors.

Candidates should be highly motivated, able to work proactively, and capable of accurate analysis and logical thinking aligned with objectives. Business experience and communication skills are required. Knowledge of finance, accounting, law or taxation is required, or candidates should be motivated to acquire it. Basic PC skills, including the ability to prepare documents using Excel, Word and PowerPoint, are required. The Class 1 Securities外務員 qualification is required and may be obtained after joining. Experience in teamwork is welcomed, as is practical experience at an investment bank, consulting firm, private equity or venture capital fund, or a corporate department. Business-level English is welcomed.

Possible career paths include transfers to product or overseas departments, including M&A and IPO-related teams. Training includes financial analysis and English training, a short language program in Cebu, MBA opportunities and short-term overseas assignments to DC Advisory.

The position is a full-time regular employee based in Chiyoda, Tokyo. Working hours are 8:40 to 17:10 with a one-hour break. Holidays include two-day weekends, public holidays and the year-end and New Year holiday period. Annual paid leave is 17 to 23 days, prorated for mid-year hires; hourly paid leave, nursing leave, and maternity and childcare leave systems are also available. Working is prohibited during work hours under the stated smoking policy. A reference check may be requested during selection.
