About this role

This role provides credit-rating strategy advisory services within the investment banking division. Responsibilities include analyzing and evaluating expected corporate ratings using financial models, organizing issues related to obtaining, maintaining, or improving ratings, and making recommendations based on rating-agency perspectives.

The position develops and supports strategies to improve or obtain ratings, including communication and negotiation support with rating agencies. It also analyzes how M&A, capital policy, shareholder returns, capital expenditure, business portfolio reform, and hybrid-security issuance may affect ratings. Financial-model simulations are used to assess these impacts and recommend measures to maintain or improve ratings.

The role supports proposals to CFOs and finance executives, contributes rating-strategy expertise to investment-banking transactions, coordinates with coverage, debt capital markets, equity capital markets, and M&A teams, and advances credit-rating advisory engagements.

Required experience includes practical corporate-rating analysis at a domestic or overseas rating agency, financial analysis and modeling, evaluation of expected ratings using financial models, issue identification and improvement proposals, analysis of the rating impact of corporate actions such as M&A, capital policy, and fundraising, and the ability to explain and make proposals to senior executives and finance officers. The position also requires document preparation using PowerPoint and Excel.

Experience with overseas rating agencies, evaluation of hybrid securities, preferred shares, or subordinated bonds, knowledge of M&A, business restructuring, and capital policy, business-level English, and client proposal experience are welcomed.
