Daiwa PI Partners Investment Professional

The role is assigned to Daiwa PI Partners, a group company to which the successful candidate will be seconded from Daiwa Securities. The business covers investment activities outside traditional securities operations, including alternative businesses.

Day-to-day responsibilities include front-office work across a range of investments in domestic companies, such as minority investments, venture investments, mezzanine investments and convertible bond investments. The role also involves limited partner commitments to investment funds and general partner operations for funds currently being managed.

Required knowledge includes a basic understanding of accounting, taxation and legal matters, along with logical thinking and communication skills. English ability is required. Candidates must have several years or more of investment experience at a financial institution, public institution, consulting firm or operating company, or comparable experience in M&A-related work, LBO finance or similar fields.

The position requires strong motivation to engage in investment work, persistent communication with internal and external stakeholders, the ability to analyze and understand diverse businesses, practical skills in corporate valuation and contract negotiation, and working knowledge of legal, accounting and tax matters.

The planned work location is Tokyo, at Grant Tokyo North Tower in Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku. The position is full-time and permanent. Working hours are 8:40 to 17:10 with a one-hour break. Holidays include a five-day workweek with Saturdays and Sundays off, public holidays and the year-end/New Year period. Annual paid leave is 17 to 23 days, prorated for mid-year hires, with hourly paid leave, nursing leave and childcare leave systems. Smoking is prohibited during working hours.
