Tax Manager

This manager-level position is planned for assignment to the Finance Department and will handle tax operations for Daiwa Securities Group and Daiwa Securities. The role is intended for an immediately effective tax professional.

Main responsibilities include preparing corporate tax returns, including filings under the group tax consolidation system; handling international tax and transfer pricing matters; responding to tax audits; managing tax accounting, including accounting for corporate taxes and tax-effect calculations; and carrying out tax planning.

Applicants must have graduated from a university or higher and must have at least five years of tax work experience at a tax accountant corporation or an operating company. A tax accountant qualification is welcomed. Practical experience in tax return preparation or tax audit responses, practical experience with consolidated taxation, and experience working at a financial institution or handling financial-institution tax matters at a tax accountant corporation are also welcomed.

The employer seeks someone who takes an active approach to work and can communicate well with people inside and outside the department.

The position is full-time and permanent, based in Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. Working hours are 8:40 to 17:10 with a one-hour break. Holidays include a five-day workweek with Saturdays and Sundays off, public holidays, and the year-end and New Year holidays. Annual paid leave is 17 to 23 days, prorated for mid-year hires; hourly paid leave, nursing leave, and maternity and childcare leave systems are also available.
