This role supports the origination of domestic and international M&A opportunities considered by clients. From the initial stages of an opportunity, the position works with coverage teams to examine and structure transactions, and supports the execution of individual engagements in coordination with product teams. The position is offered at either Junior Banker level, covering Analyst or Associate, or Senior Banker level, covering Vice President. Analyst and Associate candidates should have experience in corporate finance at an investment bank, accounting firm, M&A boutique, bank or other financial institution, law firm, operating company, or fund. Relevant experience includes M&A advisory, investment banking coverage, principal investment, and M&A finance. Basic knowledge of corporate finance, company law, taxation, and accounting is required. Business-level PC skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other tools, are also required. Experience using information providers such as FactSet, Capital IQ, or SPEEDA is required.
Vice President candidates must have at least five years of corporate finance experience in the listed types of organizations and experience managing projects either as a project manager or as a substantially responsible project manager under the supervision of a senior colleague. Experience as a project manager for financial advisory on M&A transactions is welcomed.
The position is full-time and permanent, with a six-month probationary period. The work location is Tokyo, with possible changes to company-designated locations including telework locations. Indoor smoking is prohibited.
