About this role

This role supports the preparation of a new digital bank and is responsible for practical risk management as the second line of defense. The role holder will consider appropriate risk management from banking, digital-bank and group perspectives, then plan, propose, establish and implement the bank’s risk management framework. Work includes building and embedding the framework, preparing internal rules and manuals, operating those procedures, and promoting risk awareness and risk responses.

The position includes preparing the introduction of a risk management system and establishing the processes used to monitor risk. Responsibilities also include preparing reports for management, operating relevant committees, researching legal requirements related to banking risk management, and preparing regulatory reports and disclosure materials. Named reporting areas include capital adequacy, the liquidity coverage ratio and interest rate risk in the banking book. Practical experience with market risk, including IRRBB and Value at Risk, and experience operating systems used to measure those risks are required; implementation experience is desirable.

Experience with integrated risk management is also welcomed, including credit, liquidity and operational risk. Additional relevant experience includes introducing or operating banking systems and communicating with vendors and engineers. The role requires coordination with partner financial institutions, executives, other second-line departments, engineers and designers, as well as communication across the preparation company and Money Forward’s domestic and overseas group companies.

The position is part of a new digital-bank project developed in partnership with Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation. The project combines banking and financial-risk work with a SaaS and Fintech context. The employee will be hired by Money Forward and is scheduled to be seconded to the new company. Money Forward’s evaluation and benefits systems apply.
