Mid-level Business Planning Specialist

This business planning role supports growth of freee’s SaaS business, which provides integrated cloud software for accounting, human resources and labor management, sales management, and related back-office functions for individuals and small to midsize businesses.

The work covers preparing medium-term business plans and annual budgets, managing actual results against plans, designing KPIs and monitoring processes, leading strategic projects that span business areas, and analyzing data to determine priority investment areas. The role also carries plans and initiatives through execution and contributes directly to business growth in a rapidly growing SaaS venture.

Required experience includes practical work creating a medium-term management plan or business plan, practical experience in business planning or management accounting, project management experience, and experience taking ownership of proposals to senior management and explaining them. Required skills are logical thinking that identifies the essence of an issue, communication for collaboration in a team, and the ability to coordinate among stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications include experience managing the overall profit and loss of a business, experience running an individual business or corporation, data-analysis skills based on extracting data with SQL, accounting knowledge at approximately Japanese Bookkeeping Grade 2 level, experience facilitating important meetings such as management meetings, and work experience in a corporate planning role or management consulting firm.
