About this role
This role is part of the Product Marketing Department’s Corporate Solutions Section, which serves relatively large listed and unlisted companies nationwide. The section works with the Corporate Business Department, Corporate Sales Department, and relationship managers at branches to provide solutions for corporate financial issues.
The successful candidate will work with relationship managers to understand clients’ financial challenges and interest-rate and foreign-exchange risks. Rather than starting from a specific product, the role involves designing and proposing specialized solutions based on each client’s issues.
Responsibilities include meeting clients, preparing proposal materials, coordinating transaction terms, and supporting transactions through execution. The role is expected to take ownership of transactions from structuring through closing, using interest-rate and foreign-exchange derivatives and, when appropriate, domestic and international bonds.
Required experience is corporate sales of interest-rate, foreign-exchange, or similar derivatives at a financial institution. A Class 1 Securities Sales Representative qualification is required. Preferred qualifications and experience include the Securities Analyst qualification, experience in market or trading operations for interest-rate and foreign-exchange products, and skill in preparing client-facing proposal materials.
The role requires specialized knowledge of interest-rate and foreign-exchange derivatives, the ability to develop proposal narratives that address client issues in light of market conditions, and the ability to continuously analyze and learn about economic indicators, monetary policy, and market trends. The position also involves dialogue with executives and finance departments and collaboration with relationship managers and related departments.
The position is full-time and based in Chiyoda, Tokyo. Working hours are 8:40 to 17:10 with a one-hour break. Holidays include a two-day weekend, public holidays, and the year-end and New Year period. Annual paid leave is 17 to 23 days, prorated for mid-year hires, with hourly paid leave, nursing leave, and maternity and childcare leave systems. Salary is discussed during the interview. Employment duties and work locations may be changed within the company’s defined scope. The posting states that the changed-location scope includes places where telework is conducted. Smoking is prohibited during working hours, and a reference check may be requested during selection.
