Staff People Business Partner

This Staff People Business Partner role sits on Drivemode's global People & Culture team, based full-time in the Tokyo office. Drivemode became Honda's first startup acquisition in 2019 and is building the future of connected vehicles. The role partners closely with business leaders in Japan to align people strategy with business goals, acting as a trusted advisor to leadership on organizational effectiveness and talent development. Responsibilities include leading organizational design and change initiatives, strengthening leadership capability through learning-and-development solutions and coaching, driving performance management, talent reviews, succession planning and other global People Business Partnership programs, facilitating data-driven organizational and leadership discussions, and acting as a trusted escalation point for employee relations matters. The role also works with the global People & Culture team on employee lifecycle and experience initiatives. Candidates should have extensive senior People Business Partner experience in international, growth-focused, people-centric organizations, a strong background in organizational and leadership development, talent management, and employee relations, strategic thinking and coaching skills, strong change- and stakeholder-management capabilities, analytical problem-solving skills, knowledge of Japan labor law, and strong English and Japanese fluency, both written and spoken.
