The role involves coordinating and building agreement with related departments and group companies in Japan and overseas, collecting current information, analyzing other companies, and writing integrated reports, securities reports and other sustainability reports.

The department establishes sustainability policies and strategies for the Mizuho Group and advances climate-change responses. It discusses stakeholder expectations and requests with relevant internal groups and management, sets policies, measures and targets, builds internal and external networks, and provides recommendations to relevant departments and management.

Required qualifications include knowledge of international and regulatory developments concerning climate change and natural capital, including TCFD and TNFD, and at least two years of experience in climate-change responses, natural capital, sustainability information disclosure or ESG evaluation at a large company, financial institution, major consulting firm, government agency or ESG evaluation organization. English ability required for the work, with a TOEIC score of 800 or higher, presentation-material creation skills, project-management skills and stakeholder coordination ability are also required. Experience in financial-institution management or strategic planning, sustainability or ESG strategy development, statutory disclosure or related audit, control-framework development, consulting or assurance work, and English negotiation or meeting facilitation based on overseas work experience is welcomed.

This is a permanent full-time employee position in Tokyo. The standard schedule is 8:40 to 17:10, with 7.5 working hours and a 60-minute break; flextime may apply depending on the department. There is a six-month probationary period with the same salary. Weekends, public holidays and year-end and New Year holidays are off, with 21 days of annual paid leave, adjusted in the first year according to the hiring month. Overtime and holiday work may be required. Salary is determined under company rules, with commuting and lunch subsidies subject to those rules. Social insurance, a shareholding association, childcare babysitter discounts, housing-related programs, asset-building support and leisure support are provided. The work location may be changed to locations designated by the company, including telework locations.
