Venture Capitalist

This full-time venture capitalist position is assigned from Daiwa Securities to Daiwa Corporate Investment. The role is part of a newly established crossover fund that invests in mid- and late-stage startup companies and continues holding investments after listing.

Responsibilities include the full investment process: selecting target companies, conducting due diligence, calculating equity value, monitoring portfolio companies after investment, and planning and executing exit strategies. The role also involves supporting investee companies with capital policy and investor relations.

Required qualifications include knowledge of asset management and finance, practical experience as a venture capitalist, logical thinking, and strong communication skills. Business-level English is listed as a preferred qualification. Interest in startup companies, new technologies, and new industries, together with strong motivation for investment work, is sought.

The position is based at the Grant Tokyo North Tower in Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. Working hours are 8:40 to 17:10 with a one-hour break. Holidays include Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and the year-end and New Year period. Annual paid leave is 17 to 23 days, prorated for mid-year hires, with hourly paid leave, nursing leave, and maternity and childcare leave systems available. Smoking is prohibited during working hours. The scope of duties and work location may change to locations designated by the company, including telework locations.
