About this role

This bilingual Product Manager position oversees development and product management for Mico Engage AI or new products. The role begins by hearing customer challenges and conducting quantitative research to determine what should be built and why, with the goal of increasing product value.

The Product Manager plans and maintains a roadmap containing the key features, improvements, and milestones needed to achieve strategic product goals. Responsibilities include creating development plans, prioritizing features and initiatives, coordinating resources and schedules, and continuously reviewing and updating the roadmap.

The role also covers feature definition and execution. This includes understanding customer and user problems, analyzing user needs and the competitive environment, defining functional requirements and specifications, working with the development team to advance feature development, and managing projects through release.

Product performance is tracked against key metrics and targets. Data analysis and user feedback are used to make data-driven decisions, plan improvement cycles, and carry out iterations. The position also involves stakeholder management across executives, team members, external partners, customers, and internal departments, including alignment on expectations, progress and issue sharing, expectation management, and cross-functional project advancement.

The position is part of the Product Management Department in the Product Division, within the ME & Foundation Product team. Mico Engage AI is a communication platform that supports customer acquisition from websites, personalized message delivery using data, one-to-one customer support, and integrations with other systems. The broader product context also includes Mico Voice AI for automated customer calls, BizClo for enterprise LINE one-to-one chat operations, and Micomii, a LINE membership-card service for store operators. The role may contribute to existing products or to future products.

The stated expectations are the ability to structure complex problems and prioritize solutions, understand users and markets for strategic decisions, run hypothesis testing and improvement cycles based on data, involve diverse stakeholders, and take ownership through completion. The organization operates across three overseas locations and includes members of 20 nationalities, providing experience with global product development and organizational operations.

Possible career directions include specialization as a marketing-focused Product Manager, a Tech Product Manager, an Engineer-to-Product Manager, or another domain specialist. The role can progress toward VP or Director management positions and offers opportunities to work across product stages such as 0-to-1 and 1-to-10 growth.

The job can be based in either Tokyo or Osaka. Work is hybrid, combining remote work and office attendance, with office attendance recommended once per week.
