CFO Office Head Candidate

This full-time role is in the CFO Office and works directly under the Director and CFO. The position supports management and business operations by defining and executing initiatives needed for growth in a real-estate and technology company. The company operates multiple products and services and conducts several M&A transactions annually, creating a need to integrate consolidated accounting, financial planning and analysis, fundraising, investor relations, internal controls, M&A, and post-merger integration activities. The role is intended to support the company through its pre- and post-listing phases.

Responsibilities include leading the consideration and execution of M&A transactions, planning and implementing post-merger integration, and planning and promoting joint ventures and alliances. The role also plans and operates group finance, builds a financial monitoring structure for the group, and provides management decision support through FP&A. Additional duties include preparing annual budgets, managing budget-versus-actual results, planning capital policy and financing strategies, developing IR narratives and presentation materials, and building relationships with and responding to investors and financial institutions. The successful candidate will drive cross-functional initiatives from definition through execution and may work across M&A, IR, FP&A, and business development rather than being limited to one function.

Required experience includes practical experience preparing annual budgets and managing budget-versus-actual performance through FP&A, the ability to promote cross-functional projects, and strong communication skills. Candidates must also have one of the following: an accounting qualification such as Japanese CPA or US CPA, or equivalent advanced expertise; experience at an investment bank, private equity fund, FAS firm, or strategy consulting firm; or experience in corporate planning, business development, M&A, or alliances at an operating company. The role calls for someone who treats M&A and finance as tools for business growth and customer value, proactively addresses necessary business themes, forms hypotheses for complex issues, and advances work by involving others.

Office attendance and remote work are recommended in combination. The work location may also include company-designated locations and, after a change in scope, offices such as Tokyo and Niigata. A residence within the Tokyo metropolitan area or within a 90-minute one-way ordinary-train commute is given as a guideline. Employment is permanent with no fixed contract term, subject to a three-month probationary period.
