About this role
Money Forward Kessai (secondment from Money Forward), which provides B2B deferred payment, invoice financing, invoice-card-payment and business-card services (cumulative transaction volume over 1 trillion yen), is hiring a Compliance Lead for its payment business. As the fintech business expands, strengthening the compliance framework is urgent; the phase has moved from risk assessment to implementing extracted issues as concrete rules and operable mechanisms. In the Legal-Compliance & Risk Management division you would handle the practical work of building/strengthening the compliance framework — not improving an existing one, but reviewing regulations from zero and designing/implementing operational mechanisms. Work: organizing the regulation system (reviewing rules from zero against business reality and laws such as the Payment Services Act, e.g. prepaid-payment-instrument issuance, and creating practical manuals); complaint management; issue management (root-cause analysis and remediation for compliance violations); planning and running various monitoring; compliance training/awareness; running the compliance committee; and responding to the FSA/Kanto Local Finance Bureau and self-regulatory bodies. Required: risk/compliance work experience, high-level regulation-drafting ability, project management, and basic knowledge of financial laws (Payment Services Act, Act on Prevention of Transfer of Criminal Proceeds, personal-information protection). Hybrid work (2+ office days); annual salary about 7 to 13 million yen. Native-level Japanese is expected. Full-time, based in Tokyo (Tamachi).
