About this role
This position belongs to the Control Equipment business and the Solution Sales Headquarters. The role supports two sales activities: expanding sales through distributors and proposing solutions directly to customers in the manufacturing industry.
For distributor sales, the representative studies the market and customers, creates promotional plans, aligns them with distributors, coordinates internal and external functions such as production and marketing, and executes the plans with the distributors. For direct customer sales, the representative identifies customer issues, develops solutions, presents proposals, coordinates the relevant internal and external functions, and negotiates with customers. The expected outcomes are increased Omron product sales, distributor growth through greater product handling, and customer problem resolution through broader product adoption.
Required experience is at least 1.5 years in B2B sales of tangible products. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively to identify the underlying issues behind customer requests, coordinate with internal and external functions, and achieve targets through customer-issue-based sales activities. A standard driver's license with automatic-transmission authorization is required, together with regular driving.
Preferred qualifications include experience in B2B problem-solving or solution sales, knowledge of factories, production sites, or manufacturing, and understanding of route-sales processes from inquiry through acceptance inspection. Relevant industry knowledge includes automotive equipment and parts, automotive batteries, semiconductors and semiconductor manufacturing equipment, IC cards and electronic components, food manufacturing, medical equipment, air-conditioning equipment, building automation, ceramics, analytical equipment, logistics, and material-handling systems.
The work uses PCs and common PC applications. Omron controller programming software may also be used, although prior experience with that software is not required.
Initial placement may be at sales offices in Sendai, Omiya, Takasaki, Utsunomiya, Matsumoto, Tokyo, Yokohama, Atsugi, Toyama, Kanazawa, Nagoya, Kariya, Hamamatsu, Numazu, Osaka, Kyoto, Shiga, Hiroshima, Okayama, Takamatsu, Fukuoka, or Kumamoto. Nationwide transfers across 25 locations from Miyagi to Kumamoto may occur after joining, because this is a general-track position. The sales organization has approximately 200 members, including managers and career hires, with employees ranging from recent graduates to senior staff.
