The position also follows project-manager instructions, updates systems for budgets, purchasing, and progress, coordinates with suppliers and internal stakeholders, schedules meetings, prepares minutes and draft reports, and manages documents and folders including SharePoint. During project-manager absences, the role supports internal responses and communication.
Process-improvement work includes organizing bill-of-materials structures for shipping and export, improving internal workflows and manuals, participating in requirements definition and operational improvements for core systems such as DB and Prism, and standardizing and streamlining data-entry and management tasks. Coordination is required with procurement, logistics, accounting, and IT, including responses to unexpected issues and operational corrections.
Applicants must have at least three years of practical export-control experience in a manufacturer or trading company, including establishing control systems or conducting classification reviews. Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders while progressing work is also required. Knowledge of the U.S. Export Administration Regulations, EU, UK, or Canadian export controls, classification experience for plants or large equipment, relevant trade or customs qualifications, CISTEC qualifications, procurement, production control, logistics, system implementation, or business-improvement experience is welcomed.
The position is full-time and is based at the Tokyo headquarters office in Ota-ku, Tokyo. Work at the Tokyo satellite office in Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku is also possible. Remote work may be discussed for employees living within commuting distance. Working hours are 9:00 to 18:00 with a one-hour break; flextime may apply depending on business needs.
